SASH STORY
Hi, I’m Sascha DJ & have always been very close to animals since childhood when we would decamp to granny’s house in Trinidad. She lived at the foot of a jungle so every day was an adventure to rescue animals.
However, it was when I was pregnant with Jago, my first child, that I fell in love with Fairtrade. The penny dropped suddenly that it was the most beautiful equation. In buying fairtrade we can change the system & pull people out of poverty.
WE as a consumer can be powerful !
We could move a ‘ periphery ‘ market into mainstream market & disrupt a whole trading system that historically favours the rich countries, while leaving Indian families in a cycle of poverty.

Inspired by this challenge, I dreamed of creating a fun & fabulous fairtrade boutique that was cool & chic.
I had also just finished my own documentary on Moon bears in China, & had started designing & making silly, sexy lingerie to provide money for these rescued Moon bears.
The idea was to kill two birds with one stone - why couldn’t one design luxury lingerie while helping each bear & offering a great gift for friends to buy too?
Today, having worked in activism & my own sustainable fashion label, I’m excited to create a unique line of homewares for the heart of the home - the kitchen.
Together we can build the bridge to make Fairtrade rock !
We hold the power.
Helping families out of poverty & being kind to the planet , all whilst bringing in amazing funds to protect critically endangered species ( like elephants ) on the ground in Africa.

I have also tried my hardest to make sure everything - from the labels to posting is sourced from waste or sustainable sources - so even our lovely luxury wrapping is made from post consumer waste!
